Privacy policy

1. Who is responsible for your data

This website, apekon.com, is the personal website and portfolio of Andreas Zorpidis, based in Athens, Greece. Apekon is his personal brand, not a company. Andreas Zorpidis is the controller of the personal data described in this policy and is referred to in it as “Apekon”. Apekon can be reached at hi@apekon.com.

This policy covers apekon.com only. Other websites linked from it, including tamplo.io, have their own policies.

2. What data Apekon processes and why

Visiting the website. When you load a page, the website’s hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, processes technical data such as your IP address, browser, device and the pages requested, in order to deliver the website, keep it secure and fix errors. The legal basis is Apekon’s legitimate interest in running a secure, working website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare keeps these logs only for a short period.

Analytics and marketing cookies. Only if you allow them in the cookie settings, the website uses Google Tag Manager to load Google services, such as Google Analytics, that help Apekon understand how visitors use and find it, for example which pages are viewed and how long visits last. These cookies are set only with your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Article 4(5) of Greek Law 3471/2006), and you can withdraw it at any time from “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. Until you choose, these cookies stay off.

Emailing Apekon. Messages sent to hi@apekon.com are received by Cloudflare Email Routing and forwarded to Andreas Zorpidis’s personal mailbox, hosted by Yahoo. If you write to Apekon, your name, email address and anything you include in your message are processed in order to reply. The legal basis is Apekon’s legitimate interest in answering your message or, where you ask about working together, taking steps at your request before an agreement (Article 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). These emails are kept for as long as the conversation needs, and for no longer than two years after the last contact, unless the law requires otherwise.

The music player’s microphone and “play your own song”. The player lets you make the website’s visuals react to your microphone or to a song file from your device. Both work entirely in your browser: the microphone is used only after you press its button and your browser asks for your permission, and only to measure how loud the sound is, so the visuals can move with it. Nothing you say or play is recorded, stored or sent to Apekon or to anyone else, and the song file never leaves your device. The microphone stops when you press the button again or leave the website, and you can withdraw the permission at any time in your browser’s settings.

Apekon does not sell your data, use it for automated decision-making or profiling, or use it to send newsletters.

3. Cookies and local storage

The website uses three kinds of storage on your device:

  • Necessary: your cookie choice and your accessibility settings (such as motion and sound), kept in your browser’s local storage so the website remembers them. These do not need consent and are never sent to Apekon.
  • Analytics (optional): Google Analytics cookies that measure visits and page views.
  • Marketing (optional): Google cookies that measure how visitors find the website.

The website uses Google Consent Mode: until you allow analytics or marketing cookies, Google tags are told not to store cookies for those purposes. You can change your choice at any time from “Cookie settings”, or clear stored data in your browser.

4. Who receives your data

Apekon shares data only with the service providers that run the website and its email:

  • Cloudflare, Inc., for hosting, delivery and security
  • Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC, for Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, only with your consent
  • Cloudflare, Inc., for receiving and forwarding email sent to hi@apekon.com (Cloudflare Email Routing)
  • Yahoo EMEA Limited, which hosts the mailbox your emails are forwarded to

Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

5. Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. Where processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time, without affecting what happened before. To use any of these rights, email hi@apekon.com; Apekon will reply within one month.

You also have the right to complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (Αρχή Προστασίας Δεδομένων Προσωπικού Χαρακτήρα), Kifisias 1–3, 115 23 Athens, www.dpa.gr, or to the data protection authority where you live.

6. Changes to this policy

Apekon may update this policy when the website or the services it uses change, for example if a different email service such as Zoho Mail or Resend is used. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.

7. Contact

For any question about this policy or your data, email hi@apekon.com.
